FAQs

WHAT IS THE FIRST THING I SHOULD DO IF I AM IN AN ACCIDENT?
The first thing that is recommended for any driver after an accident is to ensure everyone is alright. Depending on the severity of the accident, exchange insurance information and call the police. If you're not at fault, you may need the police report to prove to the other party's insurance they are liable. Make sure to get all the information at the accident scene, including the name(s) of the other person(s) involved in the accident, license numbers, and phone number from the authorities.
DO I NEED MORE THAN ONE ESTIMATE?
Although some insurance companies like to have more than one estimate, you are not legally required to obtain more than one. Be sure to find an auto repair shop you feel confident with and one that can handle all aspects of the repair.
WHAT TYPE OF VEHICLES DO YOU REPAIR?
We routinely repair relatively new (within the last 15 years) foreign and domestic cars, pick-ups, vans, SUVs, trucks and motorcycles.
WHY ARE THERE DIFFERENCES IN ESTIMATES FOR THE SAME CLAIM?
Insurance companies and auto repair facilities may provide an estimate that is based only on visible damages. Some are based on visible damage and what, the likely hidden damage is to the vehicle. Other estimates, which are much more accurate, are based on an actual inspection of the vehicle when parts are removed and all hidden damage is revealed. Estimates may also vary if the estimate specifies aftermarket parts rather than OEM parts.
WHAT ARE AFTERMARKET PARTS AND OEM PARTS?
OEM parts are made by the Original Equipment Manufacturer. Aftermarket parts are produced by other manufacturers, and may be less expensive while of equal quality to OEM.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE?
Repair times vary depending on the damage to be repaired and from one vehicle to another. We will, on request, give you an estimate of the repair time after we have completed a thorough evaluation of the visible and hidden damage and have determined when our suppliers will be able to deliver all the necessary parts.
HOW DO I GET A RENTAL?
If you have rental coverage, most insurance rental policies only allow thirty (30) days or less of rental car coverage. In some rare cases, the repairs may take longer than your rental coverage allows. Check your policy. If you don't have rental on your policy, the Collision Center of Miami Dade has a rental car company on the premises, so we can get you back out on your way in a snap.
WILL MY PAINT MATCH THE REST OF MY VEHICLE?
With our computer paint matching system, our professionally trained vehicle refinisher’s have the experience, training and knowledge to match your original finish
WHAT IS A DEDUCTIBLE?
The deductible is the portion of the car repair bill which you’re financially responsible for. You chose a deductible amount when you purchase your insurance policy. A higher deductible results in lower premium payments, but makes you responsible for paying a larger portion of the repair in the event of an accident. Your insurance estimate will note your deductible amount.
DO YOU GUARANTEE YOUR WORK?
The Collision Center of Miami Dade guarantees all our repairs for workmanship and refinishing (Painting) for as long as you own the vehicle. Ask for a copy of our guarantee.
